Kate's father is a mythical figure whose origins lie somewhere between fact and fable, but he does exist. He is the Builder of Towers because he keeps on building his buildings higher and higher to gain more power, and stretches his land more and more for the soul purpose of more power. Power is everything to him, if he doesn't have power, then he has nothing. He slept for centuries but now the reemergence of magic has ended his long absence from the world. So if magic does not exist, then so does him. He is the magic and the magic is him. No one is as old as he is, they dont even know how old he is and how much power he has. But he does posses a nearly godlike kind of power.

Hugh is a man who always gets what he wants, either the easy way or the hard way, and he honestly prefers the hard way. He is Rolands current warlord, he hunted down and killed Voron nearly a decade ago. He discovered Kate's identity and is determined to present her to her father. Kate presents an irresistable prize for him: she's the daughter of Roland and she has been trained by Voron, just like Hugh himself. His hatred for Curran is matched only by his determination to overcome Kate's resistance. He's determined to make her submit to his will even if he has to burn Atlanta to the ground or drown it in shapeshifter blood. He doesn't really care if she comes to him of her own free will or is dragged to him in chains. Hugh is a superb strategist and a exceptional medmage. he is also the perceptor of the Order of Iron Dogs, the elite military arm of Roland's forces.

A powerful Master of the Dead, Ghastek is a deceitful and despicable human being. He is currently locked in a power struggle with Mulradin Grant to fill the power vacuum left by the recent and unexplained disappearence of Natarja, Atlanta's former head necromancer. Ghastek senses that there is more to Kate than meets the eye and wants to know who she really is. He is very intelligent and gifted, and knows it, which occasionally causes him to make mistakes out of arrogance. Even though he is one of the smartest necromancers in Atlanta, he still has his flaws. He is a very weak, scared, and a complete nuisance to Kate and her other parties. But he is very useful too. He aalways has the information that Kate and the Pack needs, but isn't always willing to give up information unless it benifits him in the end.
Julie
Julie
Julie is a very reckless, disobidient, intelligent, strong, and persuasive teenage girl. She will do anything in her power to get away with something she is supposed to not do. Julie is bein raised by Kate after her mother died in the second book of the series. Like Kate, she is human with magic living among and under the protection of the Pack. She has the unigue ability to see magic; she is a human m-scanner and her powers are still developing. She has a major crush on Derek, who sees her as a little sister, and an adversarial relationship with Ascanio, who views her as a rival and potential romantic conquest. During book five Julie became infected with Lyc-V, the shapeshifter virus, and was going loup. Kate used one of her father's rituals to save Julie's life by washing her blood with her own, which bound Julie to her. She is unable to refuse Kate's direct order, a fact that Kate and Curran both hide from her. They both want to let her make her own mistakes that a teenager would make, live her life with rules but not orders. Julie can be very careless but truely will do anything she can to protect the ones who she loves, so she doesn't loose anyone else.
Dr.Doolittle
Dr.Doolittle
The Pack's premier medmage, Doolittle is dedicated to help and save the lifes of anyone hurt in the Pack. He is an extremely talented physicin and a medical mage, Doolittle tends to devote his time to science and the treatment of the Pack, but much like hs honey badger alter ego, he is fearless and willing to stand up to anyone, even someone with the power like Curran and Kate. He will always be there to help out a friend in need, even if it causes him to get severely hurt or even killed. He is very overprotective, and tends to yell at Kate and Curran a lot for the reason that they don't like to rest when they know that someone is in danger. They may be in charge but he is still taking priorities over authorities.

Derek is very loyal to his pack, but at times finds himself in harsh conditions. He is the protege of both Jim and Curran. In the begining of the series he was a troublesome teen, but now he is an independent and disciplined adult. He once was almost pretty back then, but after being tourtured in book three, he will forever being scared, in and out. His vocal cords were also damaged in the attack, leaving him with a permanetly deep and menacing voice. Kate often refers to Derek as "boy wonder" and his devotion to her is almost fanatical, but second only to his admiration and loyalty to the Beast Lord, Curran himself. Derek, like Curran, has a profound hatred and disdain for loups, shapeshifters gone feral. He will do anything he can to protect his family, his friends, even sacrifice his own life in order to save the ones he loves. He puts his family and friends before himself, always.

Andrea is Kate's best friend, they met in the Order. Kate was a knight of the Order, while Andrea was an expert marksman. She is beastkin, meaning she is the extremely rare offspring of a female bouda and a hyenawere, a hyena who could shapeshift into a human. In many shapeshifter packs, beastkin are at best tolarated but mistreated, at worst seen as abominations and killed at birth. Andrea and her mother suffered unspeakable abuse and cruelty at the hands of their birth pack. As a teen, Andrea escaped and, disguised herself as a human, joined and graduated with honors from the Order's Academy for knights. She is very determined to be accepted by the people, she doesn't want to go through what she went through ever again or see anyone in the same place that she was in. She will do anything that she can to help the people in her Pack, protecting the only family she has. She is very protective, dangerous, intelligent, and a little crazy, but who isn't. Her personality helps her with her position in the pack, the alpha female of Clan Bouda. She needs to be damanding, and scary yet caring, and protective of her clan, which she is. Like the others in the Atlanta, she will help protect her family, friends, and loved ones.

Jim moves with an easy athletic gait that belies the pent-up energy and violence waiting just under the surface. He has helped Kate with former Mercenary Guild work. They have a very long and complicated relationship, if one needs help the other will come to the rescue no matter the consequences. His family already accepts Kate as one of their own, they will help her as well as she will help them. Jim is determined to help Curran protect everyone in the Pack. To them, the Pack is like a huge family, and when one of their family gets hurt they all go and save them. Like them, I will do anything for my family.

He will do anything he can to save his pack, which he includes Kate, even though she will never be a shapechanger. He is an extremely unique, special, and important shapechanger. He can shift into a North American grey lion, bigger than average size. In human form, he prefers hand-to-hand combat with a concentration on grappling, which utilizes his training in judo, wrestling, and jujitsu. He trains to protect his family, he lost his family as a child and will do anything, and I mean anything to protect his pack, his family. I would do the same, he is a very dedicated man to want to protect his family, his pride, and his reputation.

She carries a sword that is named Slayer, it feeds on the blood of the undead and is her grandmothers bone. She isn't afraid of fighting to protect Atlanta, unless it's to protect it from her father. He is a very old and powerful magical being. Her sarcastic behavior makes her a very funny character, as well as puts her in a lot of danger. She always finds herself in the middle of a "war", but can't do anything about it. Rolanvd is her father, she has been hiding all of her life from him, and she was raised by his renegade warlord Voron. Until later in the series he shows up, thats when her stubborn and independent personality kicks in. She doesn't like to take orders from anybody, she would rather be alone, doing as she pleases. So she owns Cutting Edge, a small investigative agency bankrolled by the Pack. She doesn't want anyone to get hurt because of her. She will do everything in her power to protect the people that she loves, no matter what the cost. She will even protect people that don't even deserve her help, people who have wronged her in the past. She has a very strong forgiving nature, and is caring to anyone that truely needs someone to help. I believe that she is very conflicted at times in the series.
