Kate Daniels is a former mercenary, as well as former member of the order, current consort to Curran, Beast Lord of the Free People, and female alpha shapeshifter. She is approximately twenty-seven. She carries a sword that is named Slayer, it feeds on the blood of the undead and is her grandmothers bone. She isn't afraid of fighting to protect Atlanta, unless it's to protect it from her father. He is a very old and powerful magical being. Her sarcastic behavior makes her a very funny character, as well as puts her in a lot of danger. She always finds herself in the middle of a "war", but can't do anything about it. Rolanvd is her father, she has been hiding all of her life from him, and she was raised by his renegade warlord Voron. Until later in the series he shows up, thats when her stubborn and independent personality kicks in. She doesn't like to take orders from anybody, she would rather be alone, doing as she pleases. So she owns Cutting Edge, a small investigative agency bankrolled by the Pack. She doesn't want anyone to get hurt because of her. She will do everything in her power to protect the people that she loves, no matter what the cost. She will even protect people that don't even deserve her help, people who have wronged her in the past. She has a very strong forgiving nature, and is caring to anyone that truely needs someone to help. I believe that she is very conflicted at times in the series. Sometimes she doen't now if shes supposed to help a person and hurt another or let that person get hurt to save the other.
